I'm a college graduate now, and faced with the conundrum of "minimum 2 years experience". It's entry level jobs but they want you to already have the experience in that field. In some cases it's more! My degree is in the healthcare field and looking at the postings I've seen some outrageous things like- associates degree minimum for a cashier job in a hospital cafeteria!

  The past two weeks have been spent filling out dozens of applications online and in person.

  The most dreaded part for me is those long psychological surveys asking you 20 different ways if you will steal something. One question that made me do a double take the first time was "I am a loner". I know companies want extroverted social butterflies but, damn. Oh and my top favorite- "I believe people are inherently good". I could write a five page essay on that one! I really, really dread that question.

  So far I've had a few interviews. One I know went awful. I replayed it many times and I still can't tell you what happened. The whole time it was a positive vibe until the end their tone changed to dismissive and "We'll call you." Funny thing to me is that position is still open, weeks later. All I can say is they must be extremely picky.

  Right now I'm doing the waiting game. Still applying when I see a good position open. I'm lucky in that I'm not unemployed right now and I can provide for myself. But I did just finish college and I want to get started on what I just spent a good amount of money training for!

  That's all I have to say right now. I know there are thousands, millions in my situation and a good percentage of them a lot worse off than I am.

  It is nice getting to sleep more than 3 or 4 hours again. I'm doing a lot of cooking and my house is clean after months of neglect. Hopefully I will get some inspiration to do some artwork. Anything is better than waiting all day for a phone call that doesn't come.
